Opening Prayer

Confession:
Psalm 51
1. Have mercy on me,
 O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. 
2. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
3. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.

4. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.
9. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.
10. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

11 For as the heavens

Attributes of Prayer

Prayer is talking with God by praising Him, thanking Him, confessing our sins, and asking Him for our needs and desires.

The Bible shows us what to pray for and the Holy Spirit helps and teaches us to pray.

God always hears the prayers of His children and answers with what we need at the right time.

  • I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
  • So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith
  • And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have the power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
  • and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
  • Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,
  • to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen
