****Thanksgiving: Thank you, Father, that I don’t have to wonder or worry about the future. You graciously tell me all I need to know to settle my anxious heart and grow my faith. Thank you that Your past faithfulness assures me You will be faithful to keep Your future promises, including the return of Jesus!

Jesus’ disciples called attention to the beautiful temple buildings as He walked away. The Jerusalem temple was an architectural wonder that held extreme spiritual significance for Israel. Built of cream-colored limestone and plated with gold, the grand edifice shone so brilliantly in the midday sun that people had to turn their eyes away. The ancient engineering required to cut, move, and position its foundation stones – ranging in size from 20 to 40 feet (6 to 12 meters) and weighing more than 100 tons (more than 90,000 kg) – remains a source of wonder today.
