9<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>2&nbsp;The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light&nbsp;6&nbsp;For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.<br><br>Birth of Jesus Foretold to Mary&nbsp;&nbsp;Luke 1<br><br><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#a8e6a1\" class=\"has-inline-color\">26&nbsp;&nbsp;\u2026God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee,&nbsp;27&nbsp;to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin\u2019s name was Mary.&nbsp;30&nbsp;\u2026the Angel said \u201cDo not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God.&nbsp;31&nbsp;You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#f3d071\" class=\"has-inline-color\">32&nbsp;He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,&nbsp;33&nbsp;and he will reign over Jacob\u2019s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.\u201d<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Angel Appears to Joseph in a Dream&nbsp;&nbsp;Matthew 1<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#c2cceb\" class=\"has-inline-color\">20&nbsp;\u2026an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, \u201cJoseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.&nbsp;21&nbsp;She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.\u201d<br><\/mark><\/strong><br><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#b3e8b5\" class=\"has-inline-color\">22&nbsp;All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:&nbsp;23&nbsp;\u201cThe virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel\u201d (which means \u201cGod with us\u201d).&nbsp;24&nbsp;When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him.<br><\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem Luke 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#d7bae3\" class=\"has-inline-color\">2&nbsp;In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.&nbsp;4&nbsp;So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#f3cead\" class=\"has-inline-color\">5&nbsp;He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.&nbsp;6&nbsp;While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,&nbsp;7&nbsp;and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.<br><\/mark><\/strong><br>The Shepherds and Angels Luke 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#aadeb2\" class=\"has-inline-color\">8&nbsp;And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.&nbsp;9&nbsp;An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#e8afde\" class=\"has-inline-color\">10&nbsp;But the angel said to them, \u201cDo not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.&nbsp;11&nbsp;Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.&nbsp;12&nbsp;This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.\u201d<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#a4d1ec\" class=\"has-inline-color\">13&nbsp;Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,&nbsp;14&nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cGlory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.\u201d&nbsp;<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#c7b0e6\" class=\"has-inline-color\">15&nbsp;When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, \u201cLet\u2019s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.\u201d 16&nbsp;So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.&nbsp;<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#edabab\" class=\"has-inline-color\">17&nbsp;When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,&nbsp;18&nbsp;and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Magi Visit the Messiah Matthew 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#94dfdc\" class=\"has-inline-color\">2&nbsp;After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem&nbsp;2&nbsp;and asked, \u201cWhere is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.\u201d<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#f4ea7a\" class=\"has-inline-color\">3&nbsp;When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#af9cf2\" class=\"has-inline-color\">4&nbsp;When he had called together all the people\u2019s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born.&nbsp;<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#f4abab\" class=\"has-inline-color\">5&nbsp;\u201cIn Bethlehem in Judea,\u201d7&nbsp;Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.&nbsp; 8&nbsp;He sent them to Bethlehem and said, \u201cGo and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.\u201d<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#f3be8d\" class=\"has-inline-color\">9&nbsp;After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.&nbsp;10&nbsp;When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.&nbsp;<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#9ca0f2\" class=\"has-inline-color\">11&nbsp;On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.
