Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the Lord your God.<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>*Guardian-Redeemer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><mark style=\"background-color:#d9f7d0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">This role served to stabilize a disrupted family circumstance. Mosaic Law prescribed that\u00a0<strong><em>the guardian-redeemer reacquire property lost by family members who had fallen on hard times<\/em><\/strong>. He also was to\u00a0<strong><em>redeem relatives\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>who, because of poverty, had sold themselves into slavery.
